Review
Among rampant craze for cricket and football, it was nice to read about tennis. It is a short read, good for travel or airport/station reading. A simple read but I felt it was too short, as in some parts felt truncated. Like Tahira’s struggle to ante up her tennis career could have been explored further. It seemed like a fast forward transition. I thought it will be a underdog-wins-it-all ending but that didn’t happen. But the struggle to reach Wimbledon seemed effortless. Is it so easy to reach Wimbledon on a wild card with the experience of just one match? I don’t know tennis but I don’t think so. I could be wrong.
Vikram and Tahira’s relationship could have been explored more, with respect to Tahira’s journey.
In few words, it seemed the author tried too hard to make the book short. There were spaces for exploration.
