REVIEW
SuperBu features a usual Bengali family where the lady of the house is particular about cleanliness and hygiene and hence is averse to having pets. Whereas the rest if the family yearns for a playful family member. The family is not picture perfect. Every one is prone to tempered that makes the characters much more believable. Their fights and arguments might feel overboard but nowadays it is common in households.
The family’s attachment to their new pet, the matriarch’s gradual bonding with the new member, has been portrayed beautifully. How the family defends the dachshund in front of their guests who think this particular breed is not suitable was the best part.
How the family fights. So real. They blame one another whenever the pet relieves itself in the house when it is not supposed to, so true. Husband–wife clash, mother–daughter in law clash, classic Bengali household.
The author’s writing will hit home. He has neither sugarcoated nor gone overboard with grimness.
